Maharashtra public holidays in 2026 are the days the state government closes its offices. The list differs from the central government list, so a date you saw for Delhi may not apply in Mumbai or Pune. This page gives the full 2026 Maharashtra list with the day of the week, and it keeps earlier years below so the page can be updated every January.
Last updated: 22 October 2026. The list comes from the Government of Maharashtra public holiday notice for 2026 as published on the MMRDA website. For the national picture, see public holidays in India.
The list has 24 entries on 22 different dates. Maharashtra Din and Buddha Pournima share 1 May, and Independence Day and Parsi New Year share 15 August.

Maharashtra also lists Maharashtra Din, Gudhi Padwa, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, which are not all on the central gazetted list.
Weekends are assumed to be Saturday and Sunday. Republic Day on Monday 26 January gives three days off. Maharashtra Din and Buddha Pournima on Friday 1 May give Friday to Sunday. Dasara on Tuesday 20 October gives four days with one leave day on Monday 19 October. Christmas on Friday 25 December gives Friday to Sunday. Ganesh Chaturthi falls on Monday 14 September, which gives Saturday 12 September to Monday 14 September with no leave. For a fuller plan, see the long weekend section on the public holidays in India page.
