Public Holidays in Delhi

Public Holidays in Delhi: Full List and Long Weekends [Updated 2026]

Delhi public holidays in 2026 are set by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD). The list is close to the central government list, but it has its own dates and a few extra days, so check it if you run an office in Delhi or the NCR. This page gives the 2026 gazetted holidays with the day of the week, and it keeps earlier years below so the page can be updated every January.

Last updated: 22 October 2026. The dates come from GNCTD notifications, including the 26 May 2026 notification that moved Id ul Zuha. For the national picture, see public holidays in India.

Long weekends in Delhi in 2026

Weekends are assumed to be Saturday and Sunday. Republic Day on Monday 26 January, Buddha Purnima on Friday 1 May, Muharram on Friday 26 June, Janmashtami on Friday 4 September, Gandhi Jayanti on Friday 2 October and Christmas Day on Friday 25 December each give three days off with no leave. Valmiki’s Birthday on Monday 26 October gives Saturday 24 October to Monday 26 October. Id ul Zuha on Thursday 28 May gives four days off with one leave day on Friday 29 May.
